Introduction
Based on the concepts of Somatic Education, our department trains professional talents in mind-body integration and adjustment of body movement. With somatic methodology and techniques, we present as a center point along with a combination of the natural environment in the eastern Taiwan area. In addition, we also train professional in recreational sports and tourism instruction, management and operation, combining the natural resources for recreational activities in Taitung district.
The SSLI(Somatics and Sports Leisure Industry) is the first, and the only department in Taiwan that targets in both somatic education development and sports recreation industry. This program includes movement exploration, fitness, sports and recreation giving us a natural edge. We combine tourism and relaxation with body-mind integrated methodology to meet the requirements for present society. Our aim is to provide a ground of experience for students where these different aspects can be addressed in body-mind practices, center in somatic theories and understand of in somatic education and therapy. In this wonderful natural environment founded in Taitung, students learn to explore the inner-self through Yoga, Somatic fitness, Chi Gong, Pilates, Podiatric massage, Shiatsu and massage, Tai massage and Chinese alternative therapy. Furthermore, Taitung is made as the most of the recreational areas to promote sports such as River tracing, Water activities and Lifesaving, Swimming, Climbing, Ecotourism guide, Biking, Orienteering, Camping and Outdoor adventure. Our program also provides students with a general introduction to the history, theory and practice of counseling, as well as teaching basic skills in both verbal and somatic work and business management.

Theoretical:
Concept of Somatics, Human anatomical physiology, Experimental anatomy, Movement analysis, Somatic movement education and therapy, Health promotion and physical fitness, Exercise psychology, Counseling, Somatic hand-on bodywork, Health and cultivation for aging and nutrition.
